In this thread the Stewarding Decisions will be announced, all rulings are final.

Foreword

As Rule E1 states;

'Sportsmanship is a cornerstone of racing at RRLeagues and this is expected to be upheld by all participating drivers. If you pass someone unfairly or collide with them, it is expected that you return the position at the earliest but safest opportunity.'

If you show sportsmanship towards other drivers then any penalties you may receive will be lessened because of this.

Pre-Race Briefing

The following driver(s) were absent from the Pre-Race Briefing at 1945 BST and will receive 1 penalty point on their licence:

Pavel Mukonin
Didier Greusard

Race 1

Lap 1

1.1 BARKER/ JAKAB/ VILLI

Colin misjudges his braking for T1, and collects Peter and Nedo who both have minor spins and loose time. Colin, more caution is needed here in the opening moments of the race.
DECISION: WARNING BARKER (1) dangerous driving on Lap 1 causing consequence to another driver

1.2 HUGHES/ MARKOVIC/ WOOD/ HINDLE/ ROSSI
A series of spins at T6 which I will combine into one incident as there are no penalties. Martin spins in T6, Mihovil and Nigel, unfortunately, go off track avoiding this, and both Peter and Valentino spin entering T6 just behind Martin. All unfortunate spins and unavoidable collisions.
DECISION: NO FURTHER ACTION

Submitted

1.3 MORGAN/ CAMOLETTO

L5. T8. Through the exit of T8 Jak attempts a move on Callum around the outside, Jak taps the rear of Callum's car which causes Cal to straight line, go off the track and spin after the exit of the corner, Cal waits for cars to pass before rejoining and loses several positions. Jak who is at fault does not wait or return the position.
DECISION: +20 secs added to total time Race 1 CAMOLETTO (3), causing a collision and not returning the position.

1.4 MOL/ GARDNER
L13. T6. Along the back straight leading to T6, Mav is right behind Andre using his slipstream, Andre who was following the racing line is tapped in the rear by Mav who was trying an overtake down the inside, this contact sends Andre into the barriers. This is very reckless from Mav at a dangerous part of the track, there was enough space for him to make the move and not hit Andre, and contact had severe consequences, also Mav did not return the position.
DECISION: +20 secs added to total time Race 1 GARDNER (3) causing a collision and not returning the position.

1.5 ROSSI/ CAMOLETTO
L4. T1. Approaching T1 Valentino makes a move down the inside of Jak, there is contact as Jak turns in and Valentino crashes into the tyres on the inside. At the initial braking point Val is at least 2 car lengths back, and at corner turn-in point he has just reached the bumper of Jaks car and so has no rights to push this move into T1. This is a divebomb by Val which caused a collision and so will be treated as such, his spin and damage are unfortunately a result of a move that was not on.
DECISION: WARNING Rossi (1) causing a collision.

1.6 METCALF/ ROSSI
L13. T6. Valentino spins on his own through T6, he begins to rejoin but brakes halfway across the track narrowly avoiding a number of cars. Although luckily there was no contact this is still an unsafe rejoin here from Valentino at the most dangerous point on the track.
DECISION: WARNING ROSSI (1) unsafe rejoin

Race 2

Lap 1

2.1 MUKONIN / FILLINGHAM
Pavel gets far too close to a 4-wide pack in front of him and as a result, can't react quick enough to when Simon brakes for T1. There is contact that pushes Si into the barriers forcing Si to retire. Pavel can continue without consequence. As Si retired instantly, Pavel had no opportunity to return position if this was his intention.
DECISION: WARNING MUKONIN (1)

2.2 BARROWCLOUGH / BARKER
Approaching T7, Jody is on the inside with negligible overlap on Colin. Under braking, Jody gets his nose alongside Colin but still not significant overlap. Colin makes what seems to be an early turn-in for the corner and moves across the nose of Jody giving Jody little time to react. There is contact which slides Colin, resulting in a loss of positions. Jody waits and returns position. Coming off the fast right, T7 can present difficulties in getting your line right and consistent every time. We are unable to categorically say either driver was at fault here and with Jody's show of sportsmanship by waiting for Colin...
DECISION: NO FURTHER ACTION

2.3 ARELLA / MUKONIN / CSOKE
The incident begins at T7. Pavel is a couple of car length behind Ralf approaching T7. Under braking, Pavel closes right up and looks to the inside of Ralf who is a little wide through the turn. Pavel can complete the overtake with gentle contact through apex. Approaching T8, this now puts Andre, Dezso, Pavel & Ralf very close, all nose to tail. They all brake for T8 which results in Dezso being pushed into the tyre stack and forcing him to retire. It appears that Ralf was the latest on the brakes which caused him to hit Pavel which in turn caused Pavel to push Dezso into the tyre stack. There is an unfortunate secondary incident that causes Zhirayr to spin. Ralf gains position from Dezso & Pavel but returns position to Pavel within a lap. Dezso retires giving no opportunity for Ralf to return position.
DECISION: WARNING ARELLA (1)

Submitted

2.4 HUGHES / MOL (L13, T1)
Andre is ahead of Martin down the s/f straight and moves to the centre of the track. Into the braking zone, Andre drifts back to the left edge and closes the car's width available to Martin (close behind), against Rule 5.2. Martin is carrying an excess speed over Andre and is looking to move into the gap to attack into T1. By closing the gap, Andre causes a collision which has consequence to both drivers. Martin can recover before Andre.
DECISION: WARNING MOL (1)

2.5 HUGHES / O'BRIEN (L16, T1)
Daniel is ahead of Martin down the s/f straight. Daniel is holding an inner-middle line so Martin attacks on an outer-middle line. When the cars are side-by-side, Daniel drifts towards Martin and there is some rubbing through the braking zone which unstables Martin's car. Daniel was possibly expecting Martin to be far over on the racing line so thought he was safe to move a little, but Martin was actually keeping it quite tight to Dan. We don't see anything worthy of penalty here and the cars do tend to not want to separate when rubbing together like this.
DECISION: NO FURTHER ACTION

2.6 HUGHES / O'BRIEN (L16, T6)
Daniel runs wide through T6, gets a wheel on the grass and spins into the path of Martin. Martin takes avoiding action and ends up in the barriers resulting in him retiring. The stewards believe Dan's reaction to pressing the brake was acceptable and the outcome wouldn't have been any different if he instantly applied the brakes.
DECISION: NO FURTHER ACTION

Pre-Race Briefing

The following driver(s) were absent from the Pre-Race Briefing at 1945 BST and will receive 1 penalty point on their licence:

Bobby Gill
Ethan Kearley
Daniel O'Brien

Race 1 Lap 1

1.1 HUGHES/ CAMOLETTO/ BERGSMA
Approaching T1 Martin, Jak and André are three wide, Martin very slightly drifts into Jak which causes Martin to bump into André, and as they all turn in for T1 Martin is unstable and does not make the corner, collides with Jak and half spins, this causes him to lose some time and a place to David. This is an unfortunate incident in a tight Lap1 T1 situation.
DECISION: NO FURTHER ACTION

1.2 WOOD/ BAKER
T9 Nigel misjudges his braking and straight lines through the corner and narrowly misses the other drives.
DECISION: WARNING WOOD (1) dangerous driving Lap 1.

1.3 BARKER/ ROSSI
At T11 Colin runs into the back of Valentino but Val is able to maintain control and the position.
DECISION: WARNING BARKER (1) dangerous driving Lap 1.

Submitted

1.4 KEARLEY/ DE LEVA (self sub)
L8. T7. Ethan comes from a long way back to make a move on Antonio. Ethan takes the position but Antonio gets it back a couple of corners later.
DECISION: WARNING KEARLEY (1) causing a collision.

1.5 KEARLEY/ PROEBSTLE (self sub)
L9. T9. Similar to 1.4 Ethan comes from so far back there is never a move on, he hits Peter who half spins but is able to remain in front of Ethan.
DECISION: WARNING KEARLEY (1) causing a collision.

1.6 KEARLEY/ GREUSARD (self sub)
L10. T9. the Same as the previous two incidents (1.4 and 1.5) Ethan comes from very far back, the move is absolutely not on, he hits Didier who spins and loses positions, Ethan returns the position along the main straight.
DECISION: WARNING KEARLEY (1) causing a collision.

1.4 GARDNER/ MOL (self sub)
L11 .T9. Entering T9 Mav rear ends André in the braking zone, this sends André into the barrier and lose several positions. Mav does not slow or return the position within a lap. While I do feel that André braked a little early for the corner, Mav should have been more aware as there was time to alter his racing line and braking. Clearly Mav is at fault and if he had waited for André it would just be a Warning.
DECISION: +20 secs added to total time Race 1 GARDNER (3) causing a collision and not returning the position.

1.5 GILL/ GREUSARD (selfsub)
L5. T5. At T5 Bobby comes from a long way back and dives down the inside of Didier, he makes the corner and takes the position. Didier broke quite early for this corner which cause Bobby to take evading action down the inside, after Bobby keeps it tight to the apex with no contact between the drivers.
DECISION: NO FURTHER ACTION

1.6 PROEBSTLE/ KEARLEY/ BRITTAIN (selfsub)
L2. T7. Approaching T7 Clive has lost momentum from a mistake while just behind and side by side Ethan and Peter gain in the braking zone. Both Ethan and Peter make an overtaking move on Clive who has contact with Peter, which results in Ethan taking the position follow by Peter. While this is certainly hard racing, because of the loss of speed from the corner before Clive left a lot of room for the other drivers to make a move and so there were no positions taken unfairly.
DECISION: NO FURTHER ACTION

1.7 PROEBSTLE/ GREUSARD/ HINDLE (selfsub)
L7. T7. Similar to 1.6 Peter P dives down the inside of Didier and Peter H, Peter P takes both positions and has contact with the other Peter mid-corner. Unlike the previous incident, this move is a divebomb, and although initially the move is clean, Peter P does not have sufficient overlap at CTIP (corner turn-in point) and runs wide through the apex which both collects Peter H and then blocks Didier, this is seen taking the positions unfairly and not returning them within a lap.
DECISION: +20 secs added to total race time Race 1 PROEBSTLE (3) causing a collision and not returning the position.

1.8 DE LEVA/ KEARLEY
L8. T5. Approaching T5 Ethan is late on the brakes and hits Antonio at the apex. Antonio is able to maintain control and his position. Because the touch is so slight and Antonio is able to maintain the position the stewards are happy with how this incident played out.
DECISION: NO FURTHER ACTION

Race 2 Lap 1

2.1 HUGHES / BERGSMA
Andre is ahead of Martin on the back straight and moves to the inside to defend. Andre then begins to slightly move back across the track towards his original line at the same time that Martin begins to drift towards the center of the track, there is contact and Martin misses his braking point and runs wide. Having the reviewed the incident again we have decided that André leaves enough space for Martin and incident was cause by both drivers drifting towards each other, no foul play occured.
DECISION: NO FURTHER ACTION

2.2 MUKONIN & CSOKE
Both a little hot into T5 and cause contacts with other drivers. This is right on the limit of being too aggressive and you are encouraged to show a little more patience.
DECISION: NO ACTION but noted

2.3 GREUSARD / BARKER / HINDLE
Didier hits Colin in the braking zone of T5 which pushes Colin to the inside of the track and into the path of Peter. Peter is unable to avoid Colin, tags his rear end and spins him around. Peter can continue with little consequence. Peter will not be penalised as it was a secondary incident from the initial contact from Didier.
DECISION: WARNING GREUSARD (1) causing a collision

2.4 GILL / VILLI
Bobby hits Nedo in the braking zone of T5 which unbalanced Nedo's car. Nedo can continue with little consequence.
DECISION: WARNING GILL (1) causing a collision

2.5 BINNERSLEY / METCALF
Ric is too hot into T7 and hits the rear of Greg through the corner, causing Greg to slide. There are secondary contact between Dezso, Pavel, Simon & David as a result of Ric being slow at apex after the collision. No further action for these secondary contacts.
DECISION: WARNING BINNERSLEY (1) causing a collision

2.6 BROWN / PROEBSTLE
Ian is on a wide(r) line through T7 after Peter Jakab gets through underneath at corner entry. Peter P follows Peter J's line on the inside. Mid-corner, Ian looks to take the apex but Peter P is now alongside. There is contact causing Peter P's car to become unbalanced. Stewards note that Peter P's line was not as tight through the corner which could have allowed Ian more room to move into and avoid contact. Taking this into account and because both drivers can continue with little consequence...
DECISION: NO FURTHER ACTION

2.6.1 MUKONIN / BINNERSLEY
Pavel attacks Ric into T9, coming from a long way back. At point of contact, the gap that Pavel initially goes for has almost closed due to Ric's turn-in, with Pavel not having obtained substantial overlap at corner turn-in point. Pavel leans on Ric and uses him to make the move stick, which also pushes Ric a little onto Dezso further restricting his ability to defend. Pavel gains the position unfairly from Ric and fails to return it within a lap.
DECISION: +20s added to total Race 2 time, MUKONIN (3) failing to return position after unfair overtake

2.7 GARDNER / CAMOLETTO
Mark attacks Jak on the inside into T11 and takes the position. At corner turn-in point, Mark does not have significant overlap (nose of car level with driver position) on Jak and comes off & on the brakes as they move towards apex. There is light contact as Mark moves past Jak and also contact is made with Zhirayr, ahead, as a result of being too hot into the corner. We don't mind some contact in this series, but this is too clumsy a move for us to not penalise. Mark takes Jak's position unfairly and doesn't return it within a lap.
DECISION: +20s added to total Race 2 time, GARDNER (3) failing to return position after unfair overtake

Submitted

2.8 METCALF / CSOKE (L2, T9)
The 2 drivers are battling from the exit of T7. Dezso, on the inside, gets his nose alongside the rear of Greg but nothing more. As they hit the braking zone of T9, Greg brakes ~25m before Dezso giving Dezso the chance to gain more overlap on Greg. Under braking, Greg's car makes a slight move to the left which causes contact between the two as Dezso gains from his later braking. Both drivers spin out into the barriers with Dezso recovering before Greg.
The stewards had to decide whether the 'left movement' from Greg was to begin his corner turn-in. There were many lines through T9, especially when battling, but we decide that this movement was too early to be considered a corner turn-in movement so Dezso was not required to have substantial overlap on Greg. The stewards find neither driver at fault.
DECISION: RACING INCIDENT

2.9 DE LEVA / HINDLE (L9, T5)
Peter hits Antonio through apex, causing Antonio to spin. Peter waits for Antonio to recover. Peter did not have substantial overlap at corner turn-in point to have any right to the inside line.
DECISION: WARNING HINDLE (1) causing a collision

Round 2 Dubai Autodrome Summary

Penalty Points Only - Gill, Kearley, O'Brien

Penalties - Gardner (R1 +20s, R2 +20s), Mukonin (R2 +20s)*

*
after acquiring 3 penalty points as a guest driver, the stewards believe that Pavel's driving was not so reckless to constitute a ban for the remainder of the series. We advise Pavel to dial down his aggressiveness whilst racing at RRL if he wishes to see out S43.
