RACECLUB_43a.jpg

Event Introduction
The Motorsport Arena Oschersleben is 3.6km long with a width of ~ 12 meters and elevation changes of 23 metres. The circuit is located in Oschersleben, Börde (approximately 30km from Magdeburg), Germany. Consistently driving quickly is hard work on this fast and smooth circuit. The first turn, modified from its original rounded shape into a sharp 90 degree left, is a frequent source of multi-car accidents especially on the first lap, as a popular video of a touring car race illustrates on YouTube. There are many key turns to master for a really fast lap. The end of the start/finish straight is the fastest spot on the circuit, and the McDonald's chicane allows for a variety of racing lines to be taken. Oschersleben plays host to a variety of classes and disciplines including FIA GT Championship, FIA WTCC Race of Germany, and Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters.

The Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM, German Touring Car Masters) is a touring car series sanctioned by DMSB and ITR who have been affiliated to the FIA since 1976 and 2003, respectively. The series is based in Germany, with rounds elsewhere in Europe, racing a silhouette racing car based on a mass-produced road car. The 1992 Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft was the ninth season of premier German touring car championship and also seventh season under the moniker of Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft. The 1992 season had twelve rounds with two races each; additional two rounds were held in Belgium and the Czech Republic. And although the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben was not on the official calendar, an event under these regulations in the 90’s would have a sight to behold. So for one night only, let us recreate what that race might have looked like in RaceRoom Racing Experience!

In the spirit of 90’s DTM this event will feature two races; the first an all out short 20 minute sprint race where starting positions are dictated in the qualifying session, and the second will be a longer 60 minute stint where the whole grid will start in reversed order and limits tested to see who can manage the pressure and strategise the most efficiently.
