Welcome to the RRL-GR-S14-AUDI TT Cup Round 3 Silverstone Historic thread.

SESSION TIMES (GMT)

Official Practice: 19:00 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:00 (10 mins)
Race 1: 20:10 (20 mins)
Race 2: 20:30 [approx.] (20 mins) Top 8 reversed

RACE REGISTRATION

Drivers are required to sign up for each individual race as it becomes available. This is to stop drivers who can't compete from occupying a grid slot and denying another willing driver the opportunity to race. Race registration for this round will open at 2100 GMT on 2md Febuary 2018.

DRIVER BRIEFING

ALL drivers are required to be in the PRE RACE BRIEFING voice channel for the Driver Briefing which will commence 15 mins before Qualifying is due to commence. Those that fail to show without prior warning will be given a warning which will also gain 1 penalty point on your Licence.

Hi. There is a small error in the track and leaderboard links. They lead to Norisring.

So I must admit that I am struggling here for now and not enjoying this track yet. The high speed turns don't suit the TT too well when I use my usual driving style.
Thus I have to adapt and re-learn the car. I have not yet done too many laps of the track yet, had no time to do that.
The off-throttle oversteer is one factor for sure, I have to fight that hard as of now.
Any general or specific hint or advice from you guys on the leaderboard?

My advice that helped me stabilise the car for norisring is to make sure you downshift into a high rev range. I have an app on my phone and I shift to make sure all but the middle purple light is on

Hmm, but we didn't had turns at Norisring in the same speed range as at Silverstone. The off-throttle oversteer wasn't a factor for me there at all, nor at Indianapolis. But this sounds logical, I'll try to pay attention to that.
What I've done until now was not letting off the gas pedal completely while braking - in the higher speed ranges.

Okay, so here are a few tips for you Ethan after today's practice session:
Copse, Maggots,pre-Becketts, Vale: for these fast turns try to apply only tender brakes with the gas pedal still depressed; very small steering movements at first and only follow-up steering at higher angles
Vale+Club: begin in 5th, never release fully and you can wait to get down to 4th right before Club
The Loop: brake with the gas pedal still depressed and stay in 3rd for the entire turn
hard braking only before Stowe and Brooklands

your mileage may vary :p

So what about the warm-up session to be dropped? There is no warm-up in this series, only the 60min practice. Will that be dropped? What is the new schedule (if any)?
