AM Cup reintroduced to honours list
rrl-news
After a hiatus of almost a year, the AM Cup is to be reintroduced to our series with immediate effect.
Drivers who find themselves continuously searching for podiums & top 10s can now refocus their goals with new silverware being up for grabs in the season’s honours list.
The stipulations that enable you to be considered for AM Cup participation have also been revised in an effort to more accurately refine the group of drivers contesting the trophy. In previous runnings of the AM Cup, those drivers who had not scored a podium result in their RRL career were eligible to compete.
The new regulations surrounding the AM Cup describe how a calculation based on lap time will now be the mitigating factor when it comes to inclusion. Specifically, Rule H2 states, ‘Those eligible for the AM Cup will be drivers who do not fall within 101% of an average RACE lap time (based on the top 5 lap times) in the opening 2 races of a series.’ In addition, staff will use their own knowledge and understanding of the grid to reasonable judge and further cut or expand the final list as they see necessary. Drivers will then still have the opportunity to request inclusion/exclusion by contacting an Admin who will consider their appeal.
Drivers who compete in the AM Cup will continue to challenge and score points for the main driver championship, however, a secondary league table with its own points allocation will accommodate the AM drivers.
The complete rule set surrounding the AM Cup can be found in section H of the Rules category over on our Discord server.
